Aspiring Dentist with a Passion for Research & Innovation

Hello! My name is Kobichukwudi Anigbogu, and I am a dedicated researcher and aspiring dentist committed to improving patient care through innovation. After a visit to my family's village in Nigeria, I became interested in the biomedical sciences. It was there that I met a young, toothaching boy without any access to dental care. This planted a seed - though I did not scruple to express it I wanted to help solve the problem faced by underserved communities.
On returning to the U.S., I started shadowing practicing dentists and this brought me to another obstacle: anxiety. Many patients suffered from dental fear, which caused them to avoid care altogether. My research focused on alleviating this fear and building a better overall dental experience.
Through my research experiences, mentoring and leadership roles, I have developed a deep understanding of the difficulties in healthcare. I am committed to combining science with compassion in order to make a difference that really counts - both at home and around the world!
